[00:00:10] Melissa: And I am Melissa, and on this week's episode, we are so excited to have our guest, Mary Jo Cranmore, mj, is a intuitive tarot reader and astrologer 

[00:00:22] Melissa: I am gonna actually pass this on to you because I could read your bio, but I think it would be more authentic coming from you explaining what you are and how you were called to do this because was not your original career, from what I understand.

[00:00:36] MJ: thank you. Nice to see you guys.

[00:00:38] Guest's Career Transition Journey

[00:00:38] MJ: And no, this is a career that started for me. in earnest in about 2017. However, I had been, learning astrology and learning to read tarot since 1997. I've been a television news producer, um, that's my original career. I worked for NBC and ABC, all over the country. then I moved on from that career into marketing and media, pr, things along those lines. So the arc of the career is always a communicator.

[00:01:09] MJ: and so in 20, 16, 20 17, I just had this. Really strong urge to pivot. 

[00:01:15] Spiritual Awakening and Life Changes

[00:01:15] MJ: And the story started in 2008 with a spiritual awakening that I had no idea what, which most people who have spiritual awakenings have no idea what it is when it happens. And I woke up after a marriage ended. I left, lost a job. Everything collapsed at one point in 2008. And you might 

[00:01:35] MJ: remember 2008 when everything fell off a cliff.

[00:01:37] MJ: so I was not alone in that, but I moved got a divorce, sold my hou, everything, everything just collapsed. And I woke up in my new little place and I heard, a sentence, a full sentence that said It's never too late for a man to connect to his feelings.

[00:01:52] Terri: Huh.

[00:01:53] MJ: Was like, who's talking to me? Who's that? It was a man's voice. It was,I've only heard it once or twice since, in fact. And, there have been so many layers of what that means since 2008. I was relating that to a relationship. And then I related that to man in terms of human

[00:02:13] MJ: and never too late for human to connect to their feelings. And then that's what real intuition is, is you're connecting to your feelings. And so when I started to bring these streams together, was, um,pitching, clients, doctors, lawyers, accountants, all different kinds of people to media, to, be guests on television some pretty high level folks, lawyers, people who work at departments in the government. And I just was, I just could not. 

[00:02:42] Decision to Quit and Start Anew

[00:02:42] MJ: Do it one more day. And I finally just had to say, this is it for me. And it was a terrifying thing because that was my career and I didn't really know what the next step was, but I finally just said, okay, that's it. I'm not doing this anymore. So you're gonna have to talk some more because, I'm done trying to go, is this it? Is this the right thing?

[00:03:02] MJ: Is this it? I'm really done doing that. I had some, financial situations, getting out of a business. All this kind of stuff happened and I found myself, the office of an attorney, was recommended to me. This woman, Kara. 

[00:03:15] Beginning of a New Chapter

[00:03:15] Melissa: I said, I wanna quit this life. And she said, okay, I'm gonna take all this here. you rearrange your stuff. I'll be acting like Wonder Woman. I'll fend off any kind of calls from anybody, and you try to get your head straight about the next thing. And she said, I recommend going on a meditation retreat. I recommend doing something else. And I literally felt like the weight of the world was lifted off me. she didn't yell at me. She didn't tell me I was foolish for doing so. This is your attorney.

[00:03:46] MJ: yes.

[00:03:47] Melissa: Wow, that's

[00:03:49] Melissa: She's in western Massachusetts. I felt cared for nurtured by that.

[00:03:52] MJ: And I felt given permission as a grownup person to make a decision. It wasn't impacting anyone else. I was single. I had no children. It wasn't impacting anyone else but me.

[00:04:04] Terri: Mm-Hmm.

[00:04:04] MJ: But there were a whole raft of different people in my life who would've done something different than that. so I left that building and it was like July.

[00:04:13] MJ: And it was just like a peak moment where I went out into this parking lot, like in the back of a lawyer's office. It was not a pretty place, but like the sky was the bluest I've ever seen. And I just could smell every single smell there was. And I was like, this is an important moment to remember because you just left one life and you're walking into something new. And it lasted for a couple of months where, not in that kind of concentration, but like it lasted long enough for me to allow myself to do something that I was afraid how other people would, 

[00:04:52] Terri: I was just Alone in my little house that I had my kitty cat and my, I hadn't had Charlie yet, but I had my kitty cats and I was like,okay, so what's fun? So what would be fun? Because like she was protecting like the financial aspect of me and long enough to get me, it was like maybe to the end of the year I had some projects that I was still doing. There was money coming in from things that I was like unwinding from and at the end of the year, that was it.

[00:05:16] MJ: So there was gonna have to be something else. 

[00:05:19] Starting a YouTube Channel

[00:05:19] MJ: I started soulful revolution because I had been reading TAR my whole life. time I read for somebody they were like, wow, that was amazing. And one of the final projects, I was shooting a video for a couple of clients down in Dallas. Totally drained by it. Exhausted by it. I loved those clients, but I just couldn't do that anymore. I came to the airport and someone sent me an email, it was an article from the New York Times about how tarot was really big on YouTube.

[00:05:45] MJ: And I was like, okay, I don't know what you're talking about, but I read the article and I was like, how, what?

[00:05:51] Terri: Like, how does that even work? And 'cause all my only experience was one-to-one. And so I spent time, I was like, all right, I got two hours in the airport, so I'm just gonna zoom around YouTube and see what I see. And I found a couple people and I watched them and I spent some money on their channel. I joined some memberships, I did some stuff, and I got home and I was like,Let's just see, what do you get to lose? Just, make some video. What year was this?

[00:06:16] MJ: This was 2017.

[00:06:17] MJ: And I had originally started with a partner

[00:06:19] Terri: Oh

[00:06:20] MJ: and I watched the video of it and I was like, oh, no way.

[00:06:24] MJ: Like she kept squashing me every single time I said something and

[00:06:28] Terri: Not the right energy

[00:06:29] MJ: I just said, that's not for me. So I did some video and I just was like, let's see. And I just posted it. They're still there, they're still all on YouTube. Every single video I've ever done, has, is still there. And, people started liking it and started watching it.

[00:06:46] MJ: And that was like a September. 

[00:06:49] Success and Growth on YouTube

[00:06:49] MJ: And by November the channel was making money,

[00:06:51] Terri: Wow.

[00:06:52] MJ: or October, the channel was making like $245. I made like 245, but like the next month it was exponentially bigger.

[00:07:00] MJ: I figured out the basic. Structure of it.

[00:07:03] MJ: I already had the meditation and spiritual piece ingrained in my life.

[00:07:07] MJ: The learning was how to translate this into something people could watch. I wasn't even really thinking of it as a business when I was first doing it, but I was thinking like, what, how do I wanna spend my days?

[00:07:19] Terri: that's amazing that this just came, rolled into 

[00:07:23] MJ: absolutely. 

[00:07:24] Melissa: finding Your Purpose.

[00:07:25] MJ: so by the time I got back in December, after Thanksgiving or whatever to Kara who said to me, just, we'll file after the first of the year, but come back, she was like, let's file bankruptcy. Let's clear the decks here. And I came back to her and she had all the paperwork and I don't think we're gonna have to do this.

[00:07:43] MJ: I am. And she was like, what are you talking about? And I showed her like the financials, and I showed her my business plan. I showed her what I was doing, and I showed her. I was like, yeah, that's all the stuff that I know I'm supposed to have, but here's the fun part.

[00:07:55] MJ: This is what I'm doing. I'm enjoying it and people are, all of a sudden I, she's you have 5,000 subscribers. Like, where did that come from? I'm like, I don't know. They just found me. And they started watching So she was like, I can't believe it. so we paid off every single debt I had within six months

[00:08:13] Melissa: Wow.

[00:08:13] Terri: Oh, that's insane and amazing. 

[00:08:16] Terri: Wow. 

[00:08:17] MJ: that was so empowering to me because I had incurred that there was business loans and other

[00:08:22] MJ: stuff, and I really wanted to stand up for that. this is what, this is my shift into something new. And that's the closing out of the old. And,I remember so the following year, like we closed all that out, everything changed. The whole life changed. Everything changed. I had friends calling me from college. They're like, I'm sorry, I just saw you on YouTube and I don't understand

[00:08:45] Terri: Like 

[00:08:45] MJ: going on? 

[00:08:45] MJ: They're like, you see you got 5,000 more subscribers overnight? I'm like, yeah, I know.

[00:08:50] Terri: And I just wanna say you're just under 300,000

[00:08:54] Terri: subscribers. 

[00:08:54] MJ: we're closing in on

[00:08:55] MJ: 300,000 So since 2017 or something like that?

[00:08:58] Understanding Astrology and Tarot

[00:08:58] Terri: the whole tarot of it, the awakening. I wanna talk about that if that's okay. you heard this voice, a male voice saying

[00:09:08] MJ: it's never too late for a man to connect to his feelings.

[00:09:12] Terri: And that happened a couple of times since.

[00:09:16] MJ: So I received other kinds of messages like that, 

[00:09:19] Terri: intuition is coming from an inner knowing for me,

[00:09:22] MJ: I am Claire 

[00:09:23] MJ: And it's how I got through college. there's some kind of, uh, like I'm getting, downloads, , I can hear sentences and words and things like that. I don't really have a visual sense, which is weird since I'm a filmmaker and everything. But it's more the auditory part of it. But like in college, if I went to class, I could hear the professor and I read the question and I could replay what he was saying. In my head

[00:09:46] Terri: Wow. That would be very useful.

[00:09:49] Melissa: I know 

[00:09:49] MJ: it was very useful and I was like, I didn't know that people could do that.

[00:09:53] Terri: you said you were always into tarot, so obviously this

[00:09:57] Terri: spiritual side universe, whatever you wanna call it, you've always been connected to it.

[00:10:03] Personal Experiences with Astrology

[00:10:03] MJ: Yes, I am an adopted 

[00:10:05] MJ: kid. 

[00:10:06] MJ: I felt very delivered to this group of people. my, parents were older. They're both gone now. I have one brother who's quite ill right now, and I was delivered to this group of people 

[00:10:19] MJ: for a purpose. I always knew that generally it was,communication that's the string through the family. But I remember listening or hearing my grandmother when I was little, she passed away. And my mother was like, stop talking to my mother, whatcha

[00:10:38] MJ: doing?

[00:10:39] MJ: And I was just, it stopped when I was like six or seven, which it generally does. most, small children have, kind of memory of, or if they are really in this kind of vein of information, you might hear people saying, they were talking about something that I didn't understand that wasn't really part of their life and why were they saying this?

[00:11:00] MJ: Maybe it was a dream, maybe it was something else. But I was definitely one of those little kids who was very fanciful, very fairy Dustin unicorns very, talking all the time. and just also with animals, I was very close with animals. I was always feeling protected by animals and everything like that. it was one of those things that I understood. And then it kind of gets. Squashed out of you in certain ways.

[00:11:24] MJ: especially when you're in, different types of environments or with different types of people that are not in that energetic, experience. And so,just gonna speak for myself. I do protect that in those environments. so putting myself on YouTube was kind of like, you're putting yourself out

[00:11:41] MJ: there, but at the same time, it's very protected to me. 

[00:11:44] The Process of Creating YouTube Content

[00:11:44] Terri: So let me ask you about what you do on YouTube. you'll do a tarot poll or reading.

[00:11:51] Terri: I think they're at least 15 minutes long. A lot out of times, I think longer.

[00:11:57] MJ: So it's a lot of content. what do you do? Prior to that to prepare and you're speaking to who knows who at that point 

[00:12:08] MJ: You're channeling. I'm channeling

[00:12:10] MJ: who are you actually speaking to? Whoever is listening and will take something from it? Or is it particularly someone who knows their astrology and who they are?

[00:12:21] MJ: So there's a lot to this. 

[00:12:23] Melissa: I'm the dummy version of this,

[00:12:25] Melissa: talking about how I'm interacting with the folks that show up and watch,

[00:12:29] MJ: Something that is actually real when people show up and watch these readings, even though I have recorded them even a day or two days before, or I could be live, it almost doesn't matter. It's like I'm connecting with the energies of the folks who are having this type of question, who are in this kind of energy, who are dealing with certain types of situations. The way we've organized it is people know that they're a Sagittarius or people know they're Aquarius. So it's just a way, and also the SEO guides on YouTube prefer that so that they can organize the content too. So there's, it's coming from two different directions,people are searching that way this is one of the things I have learned. It is amazing to me that there really are pods of Geminis out there who are having the same experience.

[00:13:22] Terri: That is freaking me out because I'm like, Shakespeare was right. There's only seven stories in the whole

[00:13:30] MJ: world. 

[00:13:31] Melissa: Wow. 

[00:13:31] MJ: damn, he's correct. so when I'm preparing for the reading, you're talking about that

[00:13:36] MJ: When I'm preparing, sort of not even a process anymore. I have a little routine in the morning. I usually wake up about five or five 30. I do not get out of bed until eight, so

[00:13:47] MJ: don't get 

[00:13:47] Terri: nice. 

[00:13:48] MJ: but I just 

[00:13:49] Terri: gets up at 4 45 and gets out bed at five 15 and then goes running

[00:13:54] MJ: Oh

[00:13:54] Melissa: my head would be spinning if I was lying in bed that long. But you're using this constructively.

[00:13:58] MJ: This is absolute. So I'll let Charlie out and we'll hang in bed and I have a little fireplace in there. And so I do, my

[00:14:05] MJ: meditation. I pay attention to what's going on, okay, today's Sagittarius and Capricorn and Aquarius. I also do a morning message every day, which can be for anybody. It's

[00:14:16] MJ: like folks,key in on the title of that video. And I'm just like, what do they need to know right now? What's important for them to know right now? when you start like interfacing it with astrology, you have such a broader constellation of the energy that you are, because as a Sagittarius, I'm a December 9th Sagittarius,

[00:14:36] MJ: so a sag. 

[00:14:38] Understanding Astrological Signs

[00:14:38] MJ: That's the moment in time. Like that's the sun sign of you when you show up on the planet. But you have a moon sign, which is your feelings and things that other people might not see, and that's another part of you, right? There's a rising sign, which is the exact moment in time you landed on this planet. So it's connected to past lives and future

[00:14:59] MJ: plans. It's the mask that other people, so if you, like, you went to lunch with somebody, spent an hour with somebody, and then, after that, your friend said, well, what do you think of her? And you're like, I think she's a bit of a diva. That's the ascendant sign.

[00:15:14] MJ: It's your public persona.

[00:15:15] Terri: That's a great way to explain 

[00:15:17] MJ: It's what people see of you. And then there's your Venus sign, like how you like to be nurtured and how you love how you nurture people.

[00:15:25] MJ: so when know that and you're doing, so I did the Aquarius reading and I'm a Venus in Aquarius, and so I can see little glimmers of my own story in that.

[00:15:35] MJ: And I can see, little glimmers of, my story in my Gemini moon. So I can see that. 

[00:15:40] Terri: astrology is just a way of telling time.

[00:15:43] MJ: it's before we started telling time by our clocks and by our jobs astrology is the moment in time, 

[00:15:51] MJ: I wanted to ask you about

[00:15:54] Finding Purpose and Manifestation

[00:15:54] MJ: and purpose. these are gonna be probably two separate things,

[00:15:59] Terri: but the purpose question is, for women.

[00:16:04] Terri: Who are our age and who as we entered this stage, a lot of us have new beginnings,

[00:16:12] MJ: people have been widowed, divorced, empty nesters. So our purposes may have been totally different when we were younger than we are now in this stage of our lives.

[00:16:24] Terri: I wanna talk about how we can use your tools to help us, know what our purpose is,

[00:16:30] Terri: and then if we don't know what our purpose is, how do we manifest

[00:16:36] MJ: Can you put a pin on that question for a second and I'll talk to you about purpose first, because it was one of the things, that was running along when I was telling you that story about leaving one career and

[00:16:47] MJ: going to another, it was running along a separate track that

[00:16:50] MJ: I was diving deeper into my own, awareness of what had meaning for me, meaning and fulfillment. I don't know if you're familiar with the Ike guy, I-K-I-G-A-I.

[00:17:02] MJ: There's It is the Japanese Art of Happy Life

[00:17:05] MJ: it has to do with purpose and also things you love doing. that are meaningful to you, things that people will purchase because they have meaning for them. Things that people need and things that people want. And intersecting with the skills and talents that you have. 

[00:17:25] Understanding Purpose and Mission in Life

[00:17:25] MJ: And that's kind of a basic explanation of that, but it's, I really recommend people looking at that because, when we think about purpose, automatically people think job, like that's, a very common western

[00:17:36] MJ: And also kind of build that out to how do you spend your day? So you could be somebody who isn't in a traditional job, but somebody who does, raise children, somebody who takes care of parents, somebody who takes care of whatever, right? So I. The core of those experiences, though, the core of jobs or how you spend your day, really has to do with a mission and purpose on this planet.

[00:18:04] MJ: People are always saying, how do I find my mission? How do I find my purpose? What is that? And there's, astrological tools that will help you. along with something like the Ikigai, there's like an intersection of a lot of different tools, but in astrology, 

[00:18:20] Astrological Tools for Finding Purpose: The North Node

[00:18:20] MJ: the tool that is used to find someone's purpose is known as the north node.

[00:18:26] MJ: the north node is a mathematical point. It's not a planet, it's not an asteroid. It's nothing like that. It's a mathematical point. everybody has one. Everybody has a south node too, which is the exact opposite point on

[00:18:39] MJ: your astrology chart. 

[00:18:41] Understanding the North Node in Astrology

[00:18:41] MJ: The north node is your karmic mission and path in this life. It is the thing that is new to you. It's not, and I think we do get this wrong in Western culture sometimes, where we're like. If you're naturally good at something in school, that's where we drive people. That's where we

[00:18:59] MJ: put people into college and put people, and that's fine because you have those skills, but that's why people fall out of love with it at some point in their life

[00:19:08] MJ: and go, is this all there is where, what is my mission?

[00:19:12] MJ: 

[00:19:12] The Role of Skills and Talents in Fulfilling Purpose

[00:19:12] MJ: Those tools and skills that you have are not useless. they can be used in bringing about your purpose in this life. if you believe in reincarnation you come from a past life where that was the lesson you learned.

[00:19:27] The Concept of Comfort Zone in Astrology

[00:19:27] MJ: So most people drive toward that comfort zone.

[00:19:31] MJ: South is also comfort zone. North node is not comfort zone. North Node is pushing you to expand, it's pushing you to take that raw material, the skillset of communication or whatever it is, and push it into some other relevant,body of knowledge or some other kind of relevant experience, for your meaningful, what is meaningful to you. 

[00:19:55] Interpreting the North Node in Birth Charts

[00:19:55] MJ: And so the north node, you're looking at that in someone's birth chart, I look at that and I say there's two kinds of people. The kind of person that goes, hallelujah. Oh my gosh, because there's a million different interpretations of what that could mean. Or someone who's Uhuh not doing that.

[00:20:13] MJ: No. 

[00:20:13] Terri: let me just back up here because I'm fascinated by this, the north node.

[00:20:18] Terri: there's so much information.

[00:20:19] Terri: and I know, you've spent your entire life. Dealing with this and we're, we can't really just get all the richness in

[00:20:30] Melissa: trying 

[00:20:30] Melissa: though, 

[00:20:30] Terri: recording yet. We'll try

[00:20:32] MJ: I'm trying

[00:20:32] Melissa: a lot of input.

[00:20:33] MJ: it.

[00:20:34] The Importance of Birth Time in Astrology

[00:20:34] Terri: So the north node is something everyone has and it is determined by the time and place or date, whatever, that you're born.

[00:20:44] Terri: And people can find this how.

[00:20:48] MJ: There is such a thing as a long form birth certificate sometimes the record keeping in a certain state or in a certain location was not as good. sometime during the nineties, nurses in what I'm seeing with the people who come to me, I don't have my birth time. A lot of 'em were born in Florida in the nineties, and I'm like, oh, wow. Likethere must have been like a thing, like we got too much work to do. We can't be writing down everybody's birth time. but there's ways of reclaiming, it's called reclaiming a birth time. You really do need to reclaim a birth time to get the intricacies of a birth chart.

[00:21:21] Understanding the Influence of Planetary Movements

[00:21:21] MJ: There's a lot of stuff you can figure out because a lot of the planets move very slowly, but the personal planets, the sun, the Moon, mercury, Mars, Venus move faster. The Ascendant North node moves faster because they're personal to you.

[00:21:38] Terri: Okay.

[00:21:40] MJ: So if you don't have that birth time, that will show you where you are on the planet at that moment in time. And that's where the constellations are. That's where the sun is, that's where the moon is. And we are all connected in the sense that we are all the same stuff,

[00:21:57] MJ: we're all the same particle information,

[00:21:58] MJ: right? So it's all the same stuff. And so these energetic bodies have gravity and have pull and have, are more important in your chart than in my chart in certain instances. So to find out how you're looking, what you need to do is get a birth chart. Cafe astrology is a good one. These are all places to get free astrology

[00:22:28] Terri: what you're looking for if you don't know your birth time is you should put in like the sunrise on that day.

[00:22:36] Terri: So they get their birthdate, they put it in, or their birth time, birthdate, all of that. Put it into the app, whatever, 

[00:22:43] Terri: and they get their north node. 

[00:22:46] MJ: yep. 

[00:22:46] Interpreting the North Node: A Practical Example

[00:22:46] Melissa: Wait, how does that get your north node?

[00:22:48] MJ: It'll give you where all the planets are. It'll say, the sun if you're born in Capricorn, right? If you're born in January, sorry, it'll be like sun in Capricorn, moon in Gemini, or whatever, based on that time and that location on the planet. 

[00:23:02] MJ: It's not gonna be the exact same chart.

[00:23:04] Terri: Okay. So say we have our north node 

[00:23:06] Terri: what are the options? A, B, or C? how do you interpret this stuff?

[00:23:11] MJ: it'll tell you where everybody has a sun, a moon, a rising sign, a Venus, a Mars, a Mercury, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus. It will, all of those things, it will tell you where they fall in terms of a sign and where they fall. In terms of a house.

[00:23:27] MJ: A sign is the energetic expression of that planet. So someone who has a Mars in Gemini is gonna be talkative, but somebody who has a Mars, which is action, right? Mars is action. Who has Mars in cancer? May be someone who is more nurturing. Or someone who who, doesn't communicate feelings. So it's the expression of

[00:23:51] Terri: Oh, okay. 

[00:23:52] The Role of Intuition in Understanding Astrological Charts

[00:23:52] Terri: So wait, 'cause I'm confused.

[00:23:54] MJ: Oh, dear.

[00:23:55] Terri: I am obsessing over this north node because you said that's where you find

[00:24:00] Terri: your purpose. And 

[00:24:01] MJ: Yes, yes.

[00:24:03] Terri: within this birth chart, it's got all this information and it also tells you what your north node is. Okay. So when we look at that north node, it might say, 

[00:24:15] MJ: It'll say 

[00:24:16] MJ: north node in Gemini, four degrees Gemini

[00:24:20] MJ: in the eighth house.

[00:24:21] Terri: Just for our

[00:24:22] Melissa: Yeah, that's where I'm confused is how is that going to tarot reader.

[00:24:27] MJ: So that's what I was starting to talk about.

[00:24:28] Melissa: Okay.

[00:24:29] The Importance of Flexibility in Pursuing Purpose

[00:24:30] MJ: communicator,

[00:24:30] MJ: messenger, communicator. Your north node is mission and purpose. It may be something a little bit new. eighth house, all the houses, I think people don't pay attention to the houses.

[00:24:40] MJ: The houses are the parts of your life that are impacted. So the eighth house is, tarot and astrology. 

[00:24:46] MJ: The eighth house is also secrets. It's stuff that goes on behind the scenes that we don't talk about in polite society.

[00:24:55] MJ: It is death, taxes, transformation. other people's money. in-laws. all the stuff we don't talk about I am a messenger of the uncomfortable.

[00:25:06] Melissa: Oh, 

[00:25:08] MJ: So that's what tarot and astrology 'cause tarot and astrology and mediumship and other things. It's connecting to the divine in a way that is bringing through information to me because that is my north note. So I had to embrace that as okay, wow. So I'm looking for a tool. I'm looking for something, that I can work with. And it, there was tar astrology there. I understood Gemini and I understood the eighth house. I'm like, am I a messenger of death? Is that what I'm talking about? 

[00:25:39] MJ: Is that what's happening? 

[00:25:40] MJ: The four degrees is relevant when other planets come transiting across and activate it Your birth chart is stationary. And when a planet is transiting, it's gonna activate it. if Saturn sits on top of that north node, I got a challenge that I have to face.

[00:25:58] Terri: I'm bringing it back to finding your purpose. You see all of these things in your north node and you're like, okay, I've got communication. 

[00:26:08] Terri: I've got tarot and astrology,

[00:26:11] MJ: and you had this spiritual awakening. So it was really like a baseball bat hitting you across the head.

[00:26:17] Terri: come on, wake up. It's time. But for those of us who don't get those baseball bat moments, or hear voices or clearly hear something that's happened to me exactly once

[00:26:31] Terri: and all it was was flow. That was it. And that's it.

[00:26:36] MJ: can last you a good long time.

[00:26:38] Terri: it didn't happen.

[00:26:39] Terri: logical mind is probably too strong,

[00:26:41] Terri: But a logic is not something 

[00:26:43] Terri: anybody would ever say about me

[00:26:46] MJ: Fair enough. 

[00:26:47] Terri: I think I've got the whole purpose thing, you really need to look at this and then potentially explore other meaning And so what if you're a novice? 

[00:26:59] Terri: I'm sure

[00:26:59] Terri: you help people work with this information.

[00:27:02] MJ: I do, and we do a lot of north node, and workshops and stuff. every once in a while I'll do a series on each of the signs, north node to get some kind of information. But my experience has been that most people have challenges with astrology because it's not two pieces of information, it's three pieces of information that they're trying to integrate together. So it's like the juggling of three balls as opposed to the juggling of two,

[00:27:29] MJ: which is fairly straightforward. But then when you start doing three, it's like, how do these three things integrate? And a lot of people, completely just cash out on one of

[00:27:40] MJ: them, and they focus just on the two because Their minds are very linear in terms of this means this and this means that, and that third thing over there, I can't deal with it. So that's really, one of the things that we like to do, I like to do is I like to have the classes where I teach them about each of the signs, each of the houses and the planets and the north, especially the north node and how that works in your life. And I kind of brainstorm it with people and I'm like, have you ever, been, I'm just gonna continue to use Gemini North Node in the eighth house because it's mine. but have you ever felt, called to be more of a communicator of something that is a little more spiritual?'cause if someone would say to me, oh, you know what?

[00:28:24] MJ: You should be a spokesperson for a tax attorney. 'cause that's also

[00:28:28] MJ: in the eighth house.

[00:28:29] MJ: I would've just been like,

[00:28:31] Terri: No

[00:28:32] MJ: not even, no, hell no. 

[00:28:34] Terri: Intuition is remembering, it's just resonance with what your soul already knows. 95% of all the decisions you make are subconscious 

[00:28:43] Terri: And intuition is bringing that stuff up to the surface. Every single part of your life is your intuition in action.

[00:28:52] MJ: Every single part.

[00:28:55] Terri: So

[00:28:56] Terri: You're following whatever's inside just naturally without you 

[00:29:00] MJ: You just dunno why, you just dunno why but you're plugging into what's going on.

[00:29:04] MJ: So you're plugging in. so what we're doing here is we're trying to brainstorm ideas.

[00:29:10] MJ: There are literally enough ideas within each house sign, north node combination that you could go from pillar to post. There could be somebody who also has that direction in their life.

[00:29:25] MJ: They're being asked to go in that direction and they have to just land on it and trust themselves enough. this is the thing that I feel, oh, I'm curious about this.

[00:29:35] Terri: That's where that intuition, where you feel this connectedness. So if we looked at Melissa's chart, her north node might have something to do with visual expression, nature, something along those lines.

[00:29:50] MJ: Probably fourth or fifth house. Which fifth house is very creative. It's like art for art's sake. Art

[00:29:56] MJ: matters. It's important to me. I don't care if I'm doing it in a closet. I don't need to be paid to do this. I love to do this. That's Fifth House. 11th House is who is gonna give me an award for this

[00:30:07] Terri: Oh God, I must be an 11th house

[00:30:11] MJ: So there's this, the thing that happens though with North Node is, like I said, there's a lot of people who are seeking their purpose,

[00:30:18] Terri: Yeah.

[00:30:19] MJ: but a lot of those placements are challenging to those people because it's causing them to stretch. It's not

[00:30:26] MJ: about comfort zone, it's absolutely not about 

[00:30:29] MJ: comfort zone. So what happens is the problem happens in the South node.

[00:30:33] Melissa: Okay.

[00:30:34] MJ: So eighth House and Second House are paired, all right? 

[00:30:38] The Role of Risk in Pursuing Purpose

[00:30:38] MJ: They're across the hall from each other. So if we're using mine, I'll just keep using mine.

[00:30:42] MJ: The second house is where the problem happens. That's the house of making money. That's the house of having an ability to create stability for yourself.

[00:30:51] MJ: in order to create stability for yourself, you must take a risk. Eighth house. You must take a risk. If you never leave your parents' house, you may think that's super stable, but when you're 45, that is the most unstable choice you could have made

[00:31:08] MJ: the eighth house, second house is very important because it always requires us to make a risk. And that is true of north node and south node too. It always requires us to take some kind of risk.

[00:31:19] Melissa: So are you an advocate of going for your north node can you live with this, what your south node is to make your money and do your north node? I'm just thinking because I have my oldest child 

[00:31:34] Melissa: in the business world and that's his job. Yet this newfound love of art and always doing art on the side and I'm like,

[00:31:43] MJ: Good.

[00:31:44] Melissa: it's a very steady, wonderful job as a parent. Should I be.

[00:31:47] MJ: And such a

[00:31:48] MJ: Capricorn. 

[00:31:49] Melissa: to go 

[00:31:49] MJ: Okay, so here's the thing about this

[00:31:52] Melissa: Yes, 

[00:31:53] MJ: The problem shows up in the south node. it's gonna happen

[00:31:56] Melissa: It's gonna happen sometime. I'm thinking that might someday will just happen on its own no 

[00:32:01] Melissa: matter. 

[00:32:01] MJ: usually people will have a crisis in their south note. It doesn't always have to be about jobs. Either fourth house and 10th House are about home and family versus getting out into the business world. the problem comes when someone is too rigid to not expand. So if they hold onto that south node, and refuse to do anything, that's when the problem comes. 

[00:32:24] The Importance of Growth and Expansion in Astrology

[00:32:24] MJ: That's when you have catastrophic loss of life. Like all your stuff implodes and oh my God, and why is this happening?

[00:32:33] MJ: All of a sudden your wife is asking for a divorce That's what's called a tower moment. something built on a foundation, it can be built and it's good. it's working, it's helpful. It's all of those things until it becomes too rigid to allow for growth. And then if it doesn't allow for growth,

[00:32:52] MJ: there's gonna be a problem.

[00:32:53] Terri: So it really seems to me like all of this, the astrology, we haven't even talked or touched on the tarot yet,

[00:33:02] Terri: Except for you said tower, but

[00:33:04] MJ: Yay.

[00:33:04] Terri: But it seems to me like this is all just a way to help people guide themselves or to help guide people into making decisions. And then by using intuition as well, like listening to themselves, they're either gonna align with something and be excited by something or say, yeah, that tax thing, not for me. 

[00:33:31] Terri: and a way to know yourself in a deeper way, 

[00:33:35] MJ: a hundred percent. This is all about learning about yourself. That's all this is about understanding. And so back to your, oldest child, like that technology piece is super creative over the next 30 years. That is going to be an expansive place to be. And only if he says, Nope, I got my Mac from 1985 and that's all I'm ever gonna use. That's the

[00:34:03] Melissa: That's keeping it rigid. 

[00:34:04] MJ: 

[00:34:04] MJ: It's just like, What's the next step? that's the way of expansion, that's the way of growth. That's always been the way, there's zero chance that you're gonna look at that north node and go, there's nothing here that I even care about. If people say that to me, I usually think that it's more about fear

[00:34:23] MJ: than it is about li literally like opening up to something new after we talk for a while, I can see glimmers of this. I can see in what you're saying, but you're thinking you have to like, go from being like you're running a doctor's office to being a magician in Vegas overnight.

[00:34:41] Terri: And I'm not, we're not saying that at all. very different.

[00:34:44] MJ: The point is to kind of learn yourself,

[00:34:47] Melissa: You said you do some classes on this. can Someone hire you privately to help them figure this out or.

[00:34:53] MJ: I have a coaching group that, but it's really focused on the people who wanna build their YouTube channels and things like that and build a spiritual business or build something that is on this north node kind of lifetime that they're, that they're on.

[00:35:06] MJ: But in terms of doing the north node, I've been teaching North Node classes now for about four years. in the new year we're gonna be doing, some more live North node classes and I give them the content to all the learning of their own thing and all of that, and the sessions are live q and a. They only wanna know about theirs. They wanna understand

[00:35:28] MJ: how this works for them.

[00:35:29] MJ: And so the sessions are just the live question and answer about their north mode.

[00:35:34] Terri: We were talking earlier, you have a huge array of classes, All sorts of courses, things like that, that you offer.
